Scalp Micropigmentation

What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

Scalp Micropigmentation in Scottsdale, AZ is a safe and effective procedure that gives the illusion of a fuller head of hair without the need for invasive surgery. Kim Kohli of Adam and Eve Medical Aesthetics in Scottsdale is a skilled hair tattoo artist. She can permanently replicate the appearance of hair follicles, precisely matching virtually any hair and skin color. The hair follicle replication and scalp pigmentation also has the ability to continue to naturally blend should you later develop grey hair or your skin tone later change.

Who is Scalp Micropigmentation for?

Scalp micropigmentation is for men and women who want a fuller head of hair or a more natural-looking bald head with the subtle appearance of hair follicles present. Many clients choose this option when they want to fill in bald spots, camouflage scars, burns, or birthmarks on the scalp or fill in receding hairlines with safe and effective cosmetic tattoo ink, expertly applied to mimic the appearance of hair follicles. Scalp pigmentation in Scottsdale is a cost-effective solution that helps clients feel younger and more attractive and boost self-esteem.

What Should I Expect after Scalp Micropigmentation?

Micro scalp pigmentation and hair follicle replication is a highly effective way to reduce the appearance of bald spots, thinning hair, and other scalp or hairline concerns. Many scalp pigmentation clients in Scottsdale realize remarkable results shortly after just one treatment. However, sometimes subsequent treatments are necessary to achieve optimal results. This will be discussed with you when developing your treatment plan. Our aim is always to meet or exceed your expectations, and the procedures we use are chosen because of the exceptional results they offer.

What Does a Scalp Micropigmentation Treatment Consist of?

Prior to your first scalp micropigmentation treatment in Scottsdale, Kim Kohli will meet with you to obtain a full health history, analyze your scalp and determine if you are a good candidate for the scalp pigmentation process. Then, she will work with you to develop a treatment plan with your needs and goals in mind.

Scalp pigmentation sessions typically take about 3 to 4 hours the first time. Many clients achieve the results they are searching for in one session. However, some require 2 or 3. Any necessary subsequent sessions typically take less time, often 2 to 3 hours. The pigment is injected using a specialized rotary machine with tiny needles that are much smaller than those used by other medical aesthetics professionals. Because of the small size of the needles, the application of the pigment is deep and permanent. The needle size also helps to better control any pigmentation bleeding outside of the treatment area, making the appearance much more realistic. Discomfort is typically minimal, however, if you have a low tolerance for pain, discuss your concerns prior to your first treatment. In some cases, your primary care physician can prescribe medication to help keep you comfortable during the procedure.

After your procedure, some redness is common. This will usually subside within the first day after treatment. Avoid sweating, showers or washing the scalp for four days after treatment. Shaving should also be avoided for at least four days. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week after treatment. Once you resume regular sun exposure, be sure to use high-quality sunscreen to protect your scalp and the pigment. If at any point you have questions or concerns, contact Adam and Eve Medical Aesthetics for support.
