Xeomin

What is Xeomin?

Xeomin is the newest FDA approved neurotoxin used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in healthy adults. It has been successfully used to treat crow’s feet (lines around the eyes), lines in the forehead, and has the ability to lift the brow. Injected into the skin, Xeomin smoothes and diminishes wrinkles to give you a more youthful and attractive appearance. It is most commonly used today as a preventative measure for the appearance of wrinkles.

Who is Xeomin for?

Adam and Eve Medical Aesthetics in Scottsdale considers Xeomin treatments as safe and effective for our healthy adult clients over the age of 21. If you have recognizable, moderate to severe frown lines between your eyebrows, choosing this treatment option can help to diminish them so you preserve your youthful appearance.

What Should I Expect after Xeomin?

Xeomin is highly effective, and many patients report noticing impressive results as soon as three days after injections. Others see full results within a week. Treatments can last for as long as three to four months before repeat sessions are necessary. Dysport, Xeomin and Botox are interchangeable, and some patients experience the best results by rotating between the three products for subsequent treatments. Adam and Eve Medical Aesthetics is one of the few providers in Scottsdale to offer all three treatments, providing our patients with the highest level of flexibility when it comes to determining the right treatment plan for their individual needs.

What Does a Xeomin Treatment Consist of?

Preparations for Xeomin treatments are minimal and you can return to most regular daily activities immediately after your treatment with Adam and Eve Medical Aesthetics in Scottsdale. To enhance the effectiveness of your Xeomin treatment, avoid massages or laying directly on the treated area for at least four to six hours post-treatment. Waxing, tweezing and bleaching are best avoided for at least 24-hours prior to your appointment.
Stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen or acetaminophen about one week prior to your appointment to reduce the potential for bruising. If you take prescription blood thinners, it can increase your risk of bleeding and bruising. Please discuss this with us, but do not discontinue any prescribed medications without direct permission from your prescribing doctor.
Plan to spend about 30 minutes in the Adam and Eve Medical Aesthetics Scottsdale facility on the day of your treatment. This allows time for questions and to fill out any necessary paperwork. Once in our comfortable treatment room, one of our highly qualified team members will assist you with your treatment. Minimal discomfort may be experienced and post-care instructions will be reviewed.

Frequently Asked Questions About Xeomin

Xeomin and Botox work in the same way by relaxing muscles to smooth wrinkles. They also contain the same active ingredient botulinum toxin A. It can be used throughout the face and is safe to inject by licensed professionals. They are also both equally effective.
Xeomin lasts an average of three to six months, but results may vary by individual. Most patients do report that it works quickly. Treatments may be safely repeated as the effects wear off.
Xeomin is a more purified version of botulinum toxin A. Unlike Botox, it does not contain an accompanying protein. This makes it a good option for patients who have reacted to or become immune to the protein in Botox. It is often the choice for people with any autoimmune disorders.
