Skin Tightening With Ultherapy in Scottsdale, AZ

What is Ultherapy

Ultherapy is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy to lift and tighten areas of loose or lax skin without surgery. This FDA-cleared treatment stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, helping gradually improve skin firmness and elasticity for a more lifted, youthful appearance.

Ultherapy can be used to address skin laxity on areas such as the brow, neck, under the chin, and décolletage. Unlike surgical procedures, Ultherapy delivers focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin’s surface to support new collagen formation without incisions or extensive downtime. Visit Adam & Eve Medical Aesthetics to learn more about Ultherapy in Scottsdale, AZ and whether this non-surgical skin tightening treatment is right for you.

Who is Ultherapy for?

Ultherapy may be appropriate for women and men experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity who want to lift and tighten their skin without surgery. Good candidates may notice loose or sagging skin around the brow, neck, or under the chin, as well as lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.

Because Ultherapy stimulates natural collagen production, improvements develop gradually and should not be expected to replicate the results of a surgical facelift. It may also be an option for patients looking to complement or maintain the results of previous cosmetic procedures.

Before undergoing Ultherapy in Scottsdale, Adam & Eve Medical Aesthetics provides a personalized consultation to review your medical history, evaluate areas of skin laxity, and discuss your aesthetic goals and expectations. Based on this evaluation, your provider can determine whether Ultherapy is an appropriate skin tightening treatment for you.

What Should I Expect After Ultherapy in Scottsdale?

One of the benefits of Ultherapy is that results develop gradually as your body produces new collagen. Some patients may begin to notice firmer, tighter-looking skin following treatment, with improvements typically becoming more noticeable over the following two to three months as collagen production continues.

Results can continue to develop for several months, helping create a naturally lifted and more youthful appearance in the treated areas. Because the natural aging process continues, results are not permanent, and some patients may choose to have a future Ultherapy treatment to help maintain their results. Your provider at Adam & Eve Medical Aesthetics can recommend a treatment plan based on your skin, goals, and response to Ultherapy.

What Does an Ultherapy Treatment Consist of?

Ultherapy is safe, effective and non-invasive. Except for attending your pre-treatment consultation with Adam and Eve Medical Aesthetics in Scottsdale, no preparation is necessary in advance of your appointment.

On the day of your appointment, arrive to our med spa in Scottsdale about 15 minutes prior to your scheduled procedure. This allows time for any final paperwork and it gives you an opportunity to ask any last-minute questions.

The procedure typically takes anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area. Most patients experience some warming or tingling sensations, and slight swelling after the procedure is also normal. Follow-up care instructions will be reviewed after your treatment.

    Ultherapy FAQ

Short for ultrasound therapy, Ultherapy is an alternative to surgery that works to tighten and tone skin under the chin or on the neck or chest that has become saggy or loose. You may be familiar with ultrasound technology but never heard of this particular application. We have put together the following guide to explain more about Ultherapy and how it may be able to help you.

Ultherapy Scottsdale uses ultrasound technology in two different ways. First, it uses ultrasound imaging to direct the treatment where it is needed most. Then it uses focused ultrasonic energy to cause tiny thermal injuries to supportive tissue structures of the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural healing processes to produce collagen. You can think of collagen as the glue that holds your body together. It is a naturally occurring protein necessary for building ligaments, muscles, tendons, bones, and skin. Collagen provides a framework under your skin to keep it firm and toned. As you age, collagen in your skin starts to break down. Without the underlying support structure it provides, the skin starts to sag due to the pull of gravity. Ultherapy gradually rebuilds the underlying collagen framework, which lifts and tightens your skin over time.

The upper price range for Ultherapy is $5,000. The average cost is around $2,300 to $2,500. As with most other cosmetic treatments, the actual cost varies based on many factors. As you might expect, it costs more to do the full face and neck than it would cost to treat a single area. Furthermore, the price may vary based on the specific area to be treated, with the décolletage generally being less expensive than the lower face and neck.

Ultherapy temporarily disrupts the aging process. However, eventually, the same forces that started breaking down your collagen will resume. Results of Ultherapy may last from one to three years, but this varies by individual. You may opt for additional touch-up treatments to maintain the results.

The jowl refers to sagging flesh on the lower side of your cheeks. If the skin of your jowls is mild to moderately loose, you may be a better candidate for Ultherapy. If you have more extreme laxity of your jowls, you may not be a candidate for Ultherapy, and even if you are, you may require more treatments to see significant results.

There is a healing process required for Ultherapy, so it may take three to six months before you start seeing the full results. However, you may also see temporary improvement at the beginning due to the initial inflammation. Otherwise, improvement is gradual and requires some patience.

With Ultherapy, there is a very slight risk of fat loss in the face. This can cause the cheeks to hollow, making you look older as a result. However, it is a very rare side effect, and the risk is extremely low with the techniques and guidelines currently in place. It can occur if the physician targets tissues that are too deep, but Ultherapy providers are specifically trained not to do this.

Losing subcutaneous fat is part of the aging process. Facial fillers are an  injectable cosmetic treatment that helps to restore lost facial volume, smooth lines and enhance facial contours. Facial fillers can be made out of several different ingredients, each of which has special properties. For example, Poly-L-lactic acid helps to stimulate collagen production, while hyaluronic acid helps to hold moisture to keep skin plump. Many patients have questions about whether Ultherapy and fillers can work together. There have been stories about Ultherapy dissolving fillers and thus canceling out the treatment. These stories should be regarded with skepticism since there have been no scientific studies measuring the effect of Ultherapy Scottsdale on fillers. Nevertheless, if you are interested in both Ultherapy and fillers, there is a case to be made for having the Ultherapy first and then delaying the fillers for a few months. The reason is that if Ultherapy is effective, you may not require the same filler treatment that you anticipated.

Ultherapy Scottsdale delivers tiny amounts of thermal energy at precise depths under the skin to stimulate collagen production. Patients describe the sensation as one of tingling and warmth. Some have a higher comfort level with this sensation than others. In either case, the sensation only persists during the treatment and does not linger after it is over. The procedure itself is comfortable and involves a tingling or warming sensation for most patients. A common Ultherapy side effect is slight swelling following treatment. This is due to the body’s inflammatory response to the thermal effect and shows that the treatment is working. This is temporary and should resolve on its own after a few days.

Ultherapy treatments typically take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes to complete, depending on the size of the treatment area.
