Thinking of getting a butt lift but don’t want to endure surgery? Let’s dive into the Radiesse Butt Lift.

What you need to know and why it may be right for you!

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is a FDA approved dermal filler consisting of calcium hydroxylapatite, a gel like substance which has the ability of simulating the body’s natural connective tissue and collagen production. It has proven efficacy in improving the appearance of wrinkles and folds through stimulating collagen production and thus improving the firmness and elasticity of the skin. It is able to restore volume and add volume in the face and body. The results are a more youthful, lifted appearance where it is injected.

The Radiesse butt lift can be preformed in about 30 minutes in the medical providers clinic without anesthesia. When preformed by an experienced medical provider the procedure is considered safe. It is also more affordable than surgical forms of buttocks augmentation such as the Brazilian butt lift or butt implants although the results will not be as enhanced. This is because it is a temporary treatment.

The Radiesse Butt Lift: Here we will be discussing its use in the buttocks, known as the Radiesse Butt Lift. This procedure only effects the selected areas of the buttocks.

Cost: A Radiesse butt lift is not covered by insurance and must be paid out of pocket as it is an elective cosmetic procedure. The cost of the procedure is biased on the medical providers level of experience as well as the amount of product to be used to achieve the desired results. Here the cost of the number of syringes used for the procedure is passed on to the patient. The more experience the medical professional has equates to a high cost for the provider’s time.

One vial of Radiesse costs approximately $700 and a minor Radiesse butt lift typically uses 3 – 4 vials. For more volume, more vials are required. Given this the average price range of the Radiesse butt Lift procedure ranges between $4,000 / $7000 USD. Most starting packages of the Radiesse butt lifts are roughly $5500 and are reflective of the treatment area and amount of product used.

The Consultation: Your personal aesthetic goals, skin type, current condition and the ideal amount of product needed to be used as well as number of injections required to achieve these goals and the cost of the procedure will be discussed during your consultation with a certified dermatologist or experienced medical professional. This is an opportunity to ask to see before and after pictures of the medical professionals work and to gain an understanding of the expected results. During the consultation, it will be deemed whether you are a good candidate for the Radiesse Butt Lift by looking at your medical history, pre-existing conditions and any medication being used so as to avoid potential risks such as blood pressure, or blood pressure vessel issues and allergies.

Although patients can return home immediately after the procedure, they are advised to avoid direct sunlight for 24-48 hours, strenuous activities for a 3 – 5 days following treatment and sitting directly on the treated area for a few days and to avoid

Recovery: At the injection area, swelling, redness and bruising may occur and should resolve in 3 – 5 days. Worse cases include swelling, pain or infection at the injection area (see risks below). Pain experienced can be treated with over-the-counter pain medication prescribed by your medical practitioner.

Follow-up: To monitor and ensure the desire results are achieved, follow-up appointments are scheduled and allow for the opportunity to make any necessary adjustments. Additional filler can be injected a few months following the initial procedure.

Risks: All medical procedure have potential risks involved, and although there are rarely major complications with dermal fillers, there are possible risks and side effects with Radiesse. Common side effects include redness and bruising at the injection site, rashes or itching, temporary acne breakouts bleeding of the injection area, asymmetrical results and lumps that may smooth out over time.

If signs of infection occur such as yellow or green drainage, fatigue, nausea, dizziness or elevated temperature, immediately contact your medical provider and seek emergency medical assistance.

The Radiesse butt lift is considered safe and a good alternative to butt lift surgery (such as a Brazilian Butt Lift) with minimal downtime and results that can last up to a year or more. Being a non-invasive procedure, patients are able to return to their normal activates immediately after treatment (except strenuous ones) and follow up appointments are typically for additional injections to maintain results.

As with any medical procedure, there are risks of complications such pain at the injection site, swelling and infection, when preformed by medical professional with extensive experience in cosmetic treatments or a board-certified dermatologist this procedure is considered safe.

Results: The Radiesse butt lift adds volume and improves the contour and shape of the buttocks with immediate and lasting (1 year or more) visible results. Because Radiesse is able to stimulate collagen production, the firmness and elasticity of the skin is improved giving a lifted appearance.

Over time, the body metabolizes the calcium hydroxylapatite in Radiesse and stimulates collagen production for a more natural-looking and long-lasting result. It is important to note that there may be slight asymmetry or unevenness in the treated area, which may resolve over time, and it’s important to have follow-up appointments to monitor the results and make any necessary adjustments. If results are not as desired, one can be comforted by knowing that the volume and effects of the product so dissolve within two years.
