What Should I Expect after FemTouch Vaginal Laser Rejuvenation?

In most cases, more than one treatment is necessary to see the best results, and for many patients, three treatments are needed to regain optimal vaginal aesthetic appearance, vaginal health, and intimate satisfaction.

What Does a FemTouch Vaginal Laser Rejuvenation Treatment Consist of?

Vaginal laser tightening and rejuvenation is a safe, effective and generally painless procedure. There is not much preparation necessary before your appointment. We ask that all patients have had a pap smear within one to two years before the appointment. The laser procedure also cannot be completed while you are menstruating. Should that be the case, please contact us to reschedule your treatment.

Your vaginal laser rejuvenation appointments are at our Med Spa in Scottsdale, AZ, and typically take less than half an hour. However, please arrive about 15 to 20 minutes before your treatment to allow time for any paperwork and any questions you may have. Once in our treatment room, a speculum will be used to place the Lumenis Femtouch® device into your vagina carefully. The device is a cylinder-shaped rod and just a few centimeters in diameter and positioned carefully to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the treatment. You may experience a slight warming feeling throughout the procedure, but it is pain-free. Most patients report that it feels similar to any other vaginal exam.

After your appointment, you may return home or to work immediately. Some patients experience slight spotting, a short-term feeling of urgency to urinate or a watery or grey discharge. All of these symptoms are temporary and should subside within one to two days. During the first three days, refrain from intercourse, tampon use or heavy lifting. Showering and bathing are both fine. Serious side effects are extremely uncommon, but please call a medical provider or our office if you experience excessive pain or swelling or a foul, yellow or green discharge. Most normal symptoms are easily controlled with the use of cold compresses and Tylenol.
